- It is NOT possible to store the extra information in the filesystem,
- since the OS doesn't keep track of this extra info.

- Simple test: Set the OWNER and GROUP numbers for a file, then do a
- 'copy clone' of that to another file... the OWNER and GROUP of the new
- file are reset to 0.

- The mapfile keeps track of OWNER, GROUP, and a couple of other things
- because the OS doesn't.

- No problem. This works fine with regular volumes. As for CD-ROM, to
- tell you the truth, I've never tried it, but it would be easy enough to
- test, and I can't think of any problems you should run into.
